Parts of the panhandle and western Oklahoma are still considered as being in extreme or exceptional drought conditions. The wheat crop was a disaster this year, but at least one farmer feels he has weathered the worst of the drought conditions.
Corn is higher at 6 a.m. (CT); soybeans are steady; wheat is higher.
Look for the cattle pit to open with uneven prices this morning thanks to a slow combination of follow-through buying and profit taking. Lean hog futures should also begin narrowly mixed tied to the unwinding of bear spears and uncertain cash expectations.
