Agriculture interest groups are closely following a case in Washington state where a federal court recently ruled manure could be deemed a solid waste. Plaintiffs in the case say the ruling sets a precedent.
March corn was 1 cent lower, March soybeans were 1 cent higher, and March Chicago wheat was 3 cents lower.
Lean hog contracts should open moderately lower, checked by eroding fundamentals and follow-through selling. Cattle paper is likely to start out lower as well, pressured by spillover selling and uncertain cash potential.
